The pie‑baking contest is ruined by an overturned table, the pickle canning contest is declared “no-contest” when the labels are all mixed up and changed. The livestock show is thrown into chaos after someone unlatches the pens. The Ferris wheel strands riders at the top. The Miss Dry Fork Pageant is canceled when half the contestants come down sick with a mysterious illness. One mishap might be bad luck — but a string of them? Tommy and gang are convinced someone is trying to sabotage the fair.

None of the adults suspect a thing, so it’s up to the kids to begin investigating, following clues around the fairgrounds. Every lead points in a different direction; every suspect has a motive. Will they solve the mystery in time before the fair is shut down for good?

Synopsis:In this delightful story first published in 1915, we meet a kind woman to whom nothing in the world sounds more delicious than an apple dumpling. She sets out one day with a basket full of plums in search of some apples with which to make her supper. Along the way she meets a colorful assortment of people who make trades with the woman to help fill their needs, and we learn that when you give selflessly to others, you often end up with what you most desire.

Adapted for the stage as a way to gently encourage young actors (ages 5-9) who are just discovering this performing art form, learning to read, and to help them find a new outlet for creativity!

The 3rd Tree From the Left

An original play by Elaina Shaver

$165 per student, our sibling discount is $115 for each additional student OR for the same student for a second week.

Have you ever wondered what really happens backstage during a show? The 3rd Tree From The Left flips the normal way an audience watches a show and allows the audience the unique perspective of watching the antics that go on backstage.

Our story follows Lena who has been doing theater for years. She’s never had a big role and, in fact, she was just cast as the 3rd tree from the left in the latest community theater show. This is the smallest, most insignificant role in the whole show. In the course of the show, Lena consequently, spends a whole lot of time backstage and not in the spotlight. But, Starla McLeod got the lead role (of course she did...with a name like Starla.) Watch the drama unfold backstage, including a Shakespearean battle of wits, a last-minute costume disaster, and massive case of stage fright! They’ll all need to work together – the actors, singers, techies, the stage manager, and even the director – to pull this show off!

If you think what happens on the stage is dramatic, you should see what goes on behind the scenes!
